It was great meeting you too! I just came back last night from Ocean City, MD and am just now getting to my beads I bought from you in A2. As usual I love every one and am playing around with them. It dawned on me that one of the things I really admired on one of the larger beads I bought was the silver bail that goes through it...(does Joe do that part of it?)and I thought that would be a great thing to add to some of the beads on your website. These little guys are so cute, I have started a project for a couple of beadshop owners around here to help me design something to wear all of these beautiful pieces of lampwork and make them inter-changeable, I'm working on a peyote rope for my mermaid in 2 shades of blue to match her water. I am having problems making a long enough piece to go through the bead and make a loop that will fit over my beadwork, any suggestions?? I tried the macrame ides but these beads are just too beautiful to hang from macramae no matte what I try, I was using c-lon it's great to work with, but not for your work

I agree with you, one learns new things everytime, but I learn from the lampwork forum, as it is quite expensive to travel to the States. I have had classes from 6 different instructors,when I could afford to go to the States, and although I do not follow their style, at least I have learnt something new. Hi Susan, I just found you after googling for lampworkers in Indiana. I have to say that I, too, am appalled by what customers do sometimes! I just had to comment to say, what comes around goes around.

It will happen to her one day; someone will expect something from her that she thinks is inappropriate, and HOPEFULLY she will put the two together. She doesn't seem like the brightest color in the crayon box, though, so it may not occur to her what she did to you, but you can always hope.

You make fascinating beads. I am looking for someone to teach me lampwork, so I can stop buying it for my jewelry line and start my own 'style'; hopefully a very noticeable one, like you have. Your beads are wonderful! Hoosier Hugs, Nicole

To me, this is a scam, pure and simple. There is nothing that justifies this--just as there's nothing to say she, in fact, did lose anything. I always hate to see people taken advantage of this way, and I hate to see people "win" with these tactics--I believe this just encourages them to continue their scam since it's so easy. At the very least, I would refuse to deal with her again ever, and personally feel you should rescind your offer to remake the items and stand up to her. She is neither nice nor kind and you should not become her victim.

Regarding - On Good Business Practices & Advice ... Personally, after having purchased from you NUMEROUS Times ... and getting a very clear sense of who YOU are Susan ... I would have to say this individual is taking advantage of you (and the fact that she is trying to use guilt as her form of communication, I personally feel is manipulative) .... unfortunately, we do live in a world, where occasionally others find it difficult to be responsible for themselves, and like to place blame elsewhere ... as I was reading thru the concept of good business practice ... I was struck with "possibly this is someone who would be impossible to please ... regardless of what you do, or don't do for her". Bottom line, I think manipulation & guilt to get something from someone (with a lack of personal responsibility) is rather ugly ... I can honestly write after purchasing from you so many times, that you always come from a peaceful and good place & with your heart (and when the error is truly yours, you have jumped right in to correct it, ASAP) ... I once had a bead that missed the package, and Joe was at the post office, mailing the next day ! You are a fabulous Artisan & Person ... hope this doesn't leave to sour of a taste in your mouth ... I firmly believe this is not your problem here ... and I hope you can embrace the same ...

Wow, amazing how some people are! I have to tell you I had the same thing happen to me a month or so ago. A woman of means was given one of my handmade Breast Cancer Survivor bracelets as a Christmas gift from her sister. She wore it on a trip and lost it. She seemed to be expecting to have me replace it for free (blamed the clasp, etc, etc) which caught me by surprise. I wasn't sure what to do either but, fearing further episodes like this with her in the future that could cost me alot of money, she was told the cost of the bracelet and replaced it...at her own expense. I am all for excellent customer service, which Susan you certainly provide, but there has to be reasonable limits. My opinion as a customer...if I lose something, it's MY bad. I may ask to get a replacement, but at MY expense. My opinion as a designer...I would deal with this on a case by case basis (luckily it has only happened to me once so far...knock wood), but overall I think that under these circumstances, the artist/designer should not feel obligated to replace an item at their expense because a customer lost it. Susan, honey, you are doing just fine! You absolutely do right...and then some...by your customers. It is always a pleasure to deal with you.

OMG, Just received "Time off for good behavior" and it was love at first sight, Amazing!! I thought it could not get better and reached in for the invoice and found the bonus bead, whoa, blown away! Loved it as much as the one I ordered. Went straight to my local bead store for matching seeds and jade and haven't been seen out of my studio since! Hi, I don't see any work that you created from your Florida show. My cousin bought a beautiful red, black and white necklace lampwork beads. I have not seen anything like it in any of the e-bay for sale beads. Is there somewhere to find your completed necklace.

Hello...

I received my beads today and they are just beautiful! I have to tell you I do have an appreciation for your wonderful work. I recently tried making beads at a local bead store. It was sooo hard. By the time I left 3 hours later I didn't care if I ever saw a bead again. Of course, I feel differently now, but I was so frustrated. I just know you are one of those very few prodogies that pick up the art of making beads immediately! Am I right??? :)

I plan to try designing beads again soon. Hopefully, I will improve this time :) I am having knee replacement surgery a week from today. Enjoying your beautiful creations is what has kept me going. I wanted you to know that.
